Emergency Procedures

We offer TeleTriage!

If you’re worried about your pet, we’re here for you. Please call the hospital directly—our team is available 24/7 to connect you with a licensed veterinary professional for advice and triage, any time of day or night.

If you feel your pet needs immediate, in-person care after our opening hours, please follow the instructions below:

What You Should Do

  1. Try to remain calm.

  2. Be careful when handling your pet. Animals in pain may bite.

  3. If your pet is bleeding and there is no foreign object such as glass in the wound, then apply direct pressure to try to slow the blood flow.

  4. If your pet has eaten something that you think may be poisonous, keep the package and bring it with you. You can also call Poison Control at (888) 426-4435.

  5. If you suspect your pet has broken a bone, or if your pet is unable to walk, move your pet very carefully. Place your pet on a flat surface or blanket to minimize movement during transport.

  6. Proceed quickly and safely to veterinary care.
